Ugly Stik is the innovative brand of fishing rod produced by Shakespeare and available from the Fishing Tackle Shop. Initially produced in 1977, Ugly Sticks have been developed for more than three decades to craft a number of fantastic ranges.

For the female angler, there is a dedicated range of rod called the Ugly Stik Pink. As the name would indicate one would assume that the whole rod would be pink…and it used to be in previous models. However, feedback suggested to the supplier that ladies did not like the sparkling pink style chosen to create a decidedly feminine appearance. So, Instead they have re-created the old bright pink model and given it a much classier look. The rod is now black and sports a couple of pink trimmings. Now you can fish in style without having a totally embarrassing out there pink design.

Like all of the other Ugly Stiks, rods from the Pink range are also crafted through Shakespeare’s innovative Triple Built Howald construction process. This entails wrapping parallel fibers that are infused with special pigmented resin wrapped around a fiberglass inner core to craft robust yet flexible, sensitive blanks.

Model 702M is a bit of an all-rounder to some degree. Its not too heavy for inshore fishing so can be used for general river and lake fishing with baits, Its line class allows for the option to target heavier weight fish species such as barra, mangrove jack and more. Model 702M can also be used as a medium class offshore rod for reef fishing to target snapper and other reef fish.

The model 702M will be suitable with a spinning fishing reel size of 40/4000 or 50/5000.
